Romania Division

The Salvation Army established its presence in Romania in 1993, and since then, its ministry has grown substantially. Currently, the Romanian Division is made up of five corps, each dedicated to making a meaningful difference in their respective communities. The organization’s mission in Romania focuses on being close to the most vulnerable groups, providing essential care, social support, and hot meals to those facing hardship. This commitment extends to families living in challenging conditions, elderly individuals, and people who find themselves isolated or lonely.

Throughout its years of service, The Salvation Army in Romania has responded to a variety of community needs. Notably, displaced persons have been among the primary beneficiaries, receiving significant material support, food, humanitarian aid, and shelter. The ministry’s response to crises and ongoing social challenges highlights its role as a reliable source of comfort and practical help for people in distress, ensuring that no one is left behind during difficult times.

The scope of The Salvation Army’s work in Romania is broad and inclusive. Key areas of ministry include Children’s Ministry, which nurtures and empowers young lives; Youth Ministry, which offers guidance and opportunity for personal development; and Women’s Ministry, which supports women’s wellbeing and empowerment. The organization is also active in anti-human trafficking (AHT) initiatives, advocating for and protecting vulnerable individuals. Beyond these, The Salvation Army continues to expand its reach, developing new services and projects to address the evolving needs of those it serves.
