Words by Kevin John Larsson.
As I was preparing for this series I was interested to discover that the 40 days of Lent does not include Sundays, so we will follow that calendar and not post a devotional thought today. Of course, we will continue the series on Monday featuring more of our beautiful songs and devotional thoughts.
I hope you have enjoyed the beginning of this series. I am overwhelmed by the positive response from all over the world. Please continue to comment, giving your own personal thoughts into these songs as that can prove to be so uplifting and bring such joy to those who read them. This group is now a community of believers that can lift each other up in prayer and support one another.
The remaining videos will follow the same template. A devotional thought read by me followed by a vocal soloist over piano. I would have loved to have each officer who’s contributed to the series come and record their own comments, or occasionally have a brass band playing some of these glorious hymns under a 30 member choir but budget and time simply do not allow for this.
I want to take this opportunity to publically thank the many people who are working so hard to get this series distributed in time. Generals John Larsson and Paul Rader, Commissioners Keith Banks, Alex Hughes, Jim Knaggs, William Francis, Dick Krommenhoek and Major Stephen Court for their devotional thoughts. Hannah Danielson, Erin Riesebieter, Matthew Woods, Barbara Allen, Marianna Arens, Captains Michael and Jillain O’Brien and Major Osei Stewart for their beautiful vocal renditions. James Allen for producing the recordings and for his work on the piano. Israel Doria for the music recording and Amauri Neres Periera who is the one who has put all the elements together and produced the daily videos.
Have a wonderful and blessed Sunday and we’ll see you back here tomorrow for the next installment!
